Hello There.

Holy crap, it's been over two years since I've posted here. Hello again. Don't know how much I'll be around, but I thought I'd pop over and see what's up.

Yep, still pretty proud of this layout. Word.

How have you all been?

Dear Yuletide Author

My first ever Yuletide! Yay! First of all, thank you so much. I hope you'll have as much fun writing for me as I will reading the fic. The fact that you're writing for me makes me very happy!

Today I decided to not be depressed. I got out of bed, went to the store, and made a delicious dinner. Much easier than expected, once I got moving. I think I can conquer this being-sad-and-tired thing if I really work at it.

The Frozen Ground

Alaskans get excited about silly things; A new Dairy Queen opening in Anchorage is front-page news. So you can imagine that we lose our minds a bit when Hollywood finally decides to actually film a movie that takes place up here in Alaska.

They're currently working on The Frozen Ground with Nicholas Cage and John Cusack, and it's been really awesome to see them filming all over town. They turned one of my favorite bakeries into the bakery owned by Cusack's character, filmed at my favorite bar, and are actually using the house of the real-life guy the movie is about - one that my childhood friend grew up across the street from.

Anyhow, one of my bestest friends and I took a quick detour down the street they're filming on. We didn't see any celebrities (dammit), but we had to pull over and turn off our lights for a little bit while they shot, then we got to drive through and see lots of crew members, equipment, old-timey cars, and I almost ran over some guy who was dressed as a police officer from the 70s or 80s or whatever. We also got a blurry-ass picture of an old-timey mail truck.

This is probably nothing for anyone else to be excited about, but for us Alaskans it's so cool to know that we'll see this movie and know that these are places we've been, places we've grown up, and that at some point we were just off screen.

Well, it took a couple of years, but I actually reached 20,000 downloads on this Watchmen wallpaper I uploaded to Deviant Art. I feel pretty proud.

Shiny New (To Me) Fandom

I hope you're happy, world, I've finally gone and fallen irrevocably in love with Spike.

Buffy icons to commence shortly.

Lois and Clark: First Kiss GIF

Messing around with Photoshop sometimes creates something I'm quite happy with. This is a seriously huge GIF file, so I'll thumbnail it here and you can click through to see the big one.

Stock Icons (7)

Hai guys! I made just a handful of icons using random pictures I've taken, because it's been forever since I've done something creative, and even longer since I've posted anything here. So here you go.

My Ass-Kicking Shoes

I had resisted buying these online, but when I saw them in person at Journeys I couldn't resist. Hit the cut for pictures of all the different art on them, and click any pic to see it in bigger.
